An accident involving three trucks caused massive traffic disruptions on the A46 towards Neuss until midday. Now all lanes are free again.
Motorists on Autobahn 46 have had to be patient since Wednesday morning. After an accident involving three trucks, the A46 from Düsseldorf in the direction of Neuss was completely closed from the University Tunnel, then one lane was available to road users again. According to the police, all tracks have been clear again since 12:37 p.m.
One person was so seriously injured in the accident that they had to be taken to hospital, according to a police spokeswoman. One of the trucks was no longer drivable and had to be towed away.
According to ADAC, the time lost before the tunnel at 10 a.m. was at least an hour, and there was a traffic jam of around eight kilometers between the Erkrath junction and the Düsseldorf-Bilk junction.
