VIDEO – The French video maker released his first manga in bookstores. And this new project has a very special meaning for the presenter who received it in “C à vous” this Tuesday, December 3.
“I am particularly happy to receive you this evening”begins Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine in front of the guests of “C à vous: la suite” this Tuesday, December 3. She welcomes content creator Inoxtag and illustrator Charles Compain to her set. The two recently released a collaborative manga titled Instinct. 150,000 copies sold in two weeks, the best start in history for a manga in France. But that's not the only reason why the presenter is happy to receive the YouTuber.
“Sorry for this somewhat personal digression,” she defends herself from the outset, looking at her columnists. “Thanks to you two, I experienced two firsts recently. And at my age, that’s not nothing.”jokes Babeth before continuing: “For the first time in a bookstore, my 11-year-old son, who only reads under threat, asked me to buy a book. And for the first time, I saw him come home, not turn on the TV or his computer to play Minecraft online. But sit on the couch and read.”

“We only have one family and life goes by quickly”: Inoxtag, the YouTuber who advocates disconnection
“I assure you that I could have cried because I had the impression that we had both climbed Everest”she says, referring to the videographer's recent performance that he documented in Kaizen. This anecdote, unusual in the mouth of Babeth, touched the columnists present around the table but also the two guests. “Oh I’m happy, thank you! You will say hello to him for me”replies Inoxtag without knowing that he risks being asked later to dedicate the works.
But the young boy is obviously not the only one in the Lemoine family to have started reading manga. When presenting the summary provided by Inoxtag, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine seeks to provide an additional element of teasing. However, the two guests seem familiar with the presenter's blunders. “There must be no spoilers”he says as a warning. “I’m halfway through so I can’t spoil it!”she specifies, adding: “Because we read gradually with my son. […] You are making my dream of seeing my son read come true. And if it can lead children or young people who are reluctant to read to reading, well done!”
