He admitted the facts

The 45-year-old man, a professor of physics and digital sciences, is suspected of having downloaded more than 100,000 child pornography images, between May 2023 and September 2024.

According to the public prosecutor of , Olivier Caracotch, the IP address of the individual was spotted during a cyber-patrol surveillance operation (specialized police officers responsible for tracking activities of this type on networks ). Questioned by investigators, he admitted to having downloaded these prohibited files when he was drunk. He talks about fantasies but without having acted out with minors, he who encounters them daily in the high school in which he teaches.

According to BFMTV, “during the search of his home, the police found sixteen digital media which contained child pornography files”.

He also admitted to sharing these downloaded files with other users.

Prohibited from contact with minors

The forty-year-old, until then unknown to the justice system, was presented on Friday to the Dijon public prosecutor's office. While awaiting trial next January for possession and distribution of child pornography, he has been placed under judicial supervision. He can no longer teach, because he is prohibited from having any contact with minors. His employer, National Education, was informed of the proceedings against the professor.
