Montceau – 200 m2 of building, cars and paint booth destroyed by fire

Without the rapid and effective intervention of the firefighters of Montceau-les-Mines and under the orders of Lieutenant Patru, the damage could have been much more considerable this Tuesday morning at the Renault dealership, located 21 quai Jules Chagot, at along the Canal du Centre, in Montceau-les-Mines.

According to initial findings and statements from staff who had just started work, the fire started from an electrical panel in the used car storage room. 200 m2 of building and vehicles were destroyed by the flames, including the paint booth. The risk of propagation was significant due to the presence of hydrocarbon. But it was quickly brought under control by the interventions of the firefighters.

Among the Renault dealership staff, around ten people, no one was injured.

Around thirty firefighters from Montceau, Le Creusot and the Paray-le-Monial ambulance intervened. It was necessary to ventilate the premises, particularly the offices, and above all to remove doubts about hybrid vehicles whose batteries could present a danger.
