Weather Update: North India will soon experience severe cold, IMD told when the weather will change

Weather Update Today November was warmer than normal in North India and there is no feeling of cold even in December. The minimum temperature remains above normal. The Meteorological Department has now given a new update regarding cold. IMD believes that the effect of cold will be seen after next week only when the western disturbance becomes active in the hilly areas of the north.

New Delhi. Like October, November was also warmer than normal and there is no feeling of cold in December as well. The minimum temperature remains above normal. The Meteorological Department believes that the effect of cold will be seen only after next week, when the western disturbance becomes active in the hilly areas of the north.

Weather will change after 11-12 December

According to the IMD, there will be heavy snowfall, due to which the north-western winds will move rapidly towards the plains. This is likely after 11-12 December. However, in the meantime, the minimum temperature will keep falling gradually, yet it will remain stable around seven degrees. But around 7-8 December, a situation of western disturbance is being created in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, due to which there will be heavy snowfall.

The effect will be visible in a few days in North India including Delhi-UP

The effect of the disturbance can be seen in Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh after three-four days. Cold winds from the north will come down rapidly and spread over a wide area. Minimum temperatures may fall from Delhi to Ranchi and Raipur.

No La-Nina situation, temperature will not fall

The Meteorological Department (IMD) believes that there is not going to be any major drop in temperature at the moment. Earlier it was being said that due to the activation of La-Nina in the Pacific Ocean, there will be severe cold in India, but the situation of La-Nina has not been formed yet.

It may become active by the last week of December or January. However, meteorologists believe that the cold has no direct connection with La-Nina. Still, this time the weather condition is unusual. Even in October, the temperature remained warmer than normal.

October was the hottest in Delhi

This October was the hottest in Delhi since 1951. The average day and night temperature was recorded two degrees Celsius above normal. The average maximum temperature in October was 35.1 degrees. The minimum was 21.2 degrees Celsius, which was the highest since 1951. The situation in November was also no different.

Due to the trend of higher than normal temperatures, this year the month of November was also the hottest in the last five years. The day and night temperatures remained the highest. This time the temperature has gone below ten degrees for the last time after five years. In the year 2019, the temperature went below ten degrees on December 1. This time, there was no rain in North India in October-November during the returning monsoon, due to which there was no major drop in temperature. Along with this, the situation of pollution also persisted in North India including Delhi.
