Nimes Olympic
Ngapandouetnbu malade. Finally, after three weeks without an official match, the Nîmes started a week by telling themselves that the carrot would be over this Friday with the return of the championship and the reception of Le Mans at 7:30 p.m. for the 14th day of National. “Playing is good, but we will simply have to win. We have to take points to get back into the middle of the table,” confides Adil Hermach, while Nîmes is 15th and who had put together a big day of work with two training sessions, i.e. 2h30 on the pitch, plus a weight training session. But on this Monday, it is not the confrontation against Le Mans that concerns the Nîmes coach the most, but the virus which affects his locker room. “The thing that worries me the most is the illness going around in our locker room. I was the first impacted, my whole family is sick”explains the person concerned, handkerchief in hand. Ronny Labonne was also injured last week and therefore did not play the friendly match on Friday. This Monday, it was Jérémy Iafrate and Simon Ngapandouetnbu who experienced symptoms similar to the flu. Let's hope that the Cameroonian goalkeeper recovers by Friday, because it must be remembered that Dias and Cozzella are currently unavailable. “It should be fine.”reassures Adil Hermach who therefore had no professional goalkeeper available today. It was Amine Ichalalen and Tao Belabdi, U18 goalkeeper, who were in the Nîmes goals. To prevent it from continuing to spread in the locker room, staff and players will take precautions by wearing a mask. Note that Bouaoune was hit in the calf this morning and was spared this afternoon. Paviot is recovering and Amara is in the infirmary.
N3/R1
Vauvert wins. Eliminated from the Coupe de France, Beaucaire took advantage of this weekend of the 8th round to play a late N3 match against Saint Lucia. Despite Bah's opening score for Beaucaire on a pitch that was still in poor condition, the Corsicans turned things around to win 2-1. Beaucaire remains 4th in the ranking. In R1, Le Grau-du-Roi is still undefeated after its draw in Béziers (1-1). Draw 1-1 also for Nîmes at Frontignan, yet penultimate in the standings. Mickaël Gas's men were thus overtaken by Vauvert who won 1-0 against Saint-Estève. Vauvert therefore moves to 5th, just one point behind the Graulens and in front of the Crocos.
USAM Nîmes
Head to the 16th. This weekend, the leaders of the N1 championship were on deck but in the Coupe de France Fédérale. For this second round, they hosted Eyguières yesterday at the Michel Mazel gymnasium in Marguerittes. Leading at the break (15-13), the Nîmes especially made the difference after returning from the locker room to win with a nine-goal lead (36-27) driven in particular by Chloé Roelandt and Maurine Semerle, each author of seven goals. A great success and a ticket won to compete in the round of 16 in February 2025. Winner of the regional French Cup in 2023, the Usamists hope to relive a similar epic in 2025. Now, it's time to take a rest for the players with the start of the winter break and after an excellent first part of the season. The resumption of the championship is scheduled for January 11 in Thuir.
Bagnols Marcoule Athletics
More than 450 runners. The Bagnols Marcoule Athlétisme Cross-Country always looks great. More than 450 runners in all categories covered the routes with long strides this Sunday, December 1 at Parc Rimbaud. Registrations were made at the last minute, notably for the 4,150km Open race, which allowed all running enthusiasts to put on a bib. This 60th edition kept all its promises with a first start given at 9:45 a.m., with the youngest girls, who were able to show the way to the other runners, racing down 2.4 km. It was the Men's Hopes, Seniors and Masters who closed the show at 1:50 p.m., covering the longest distance, set at 8.120 km. Clubs from the four corners of Gard were represented, namely the Uzès Athlétisme Club, the Tricastin Triathlon Club, Alès Cévennes Athlétisme and the two Bagnolais clubs, namely the BMA and RTB16, performing well on the track. We will remember the podium of Magali Saluden in the Master race. The Run Trail Bagnols Agglo graduate finished 3rd in women and first in her category. The children ran in the afternoon. Each participant left with a souvenir: a sky blue BMA jersey. Note that 82 youngsters took part in the cross, namely young runners aged 6 to 9 years old, and 65 chicks, aged 10 to 11 years old. Frédéric Terrason from the BMA was focused on the time and the number of laps completed by the runners, in an edition which went off without a hitch, thanks to the presence of volunteers and trainers. Many families came to encourage their little ones. Mayor Jean-Yves Chapelet was there to present the medals to the day's winners. Cross country is still popular in Bagnols/Cèze!
