“Tasteless”
Viewers criticize Helene Fischer’s performance at Silbereisen

At 9:39 p.m. she suddenly appeared on stage – and didn’t want to leave. Helene Fischer was seen in “Advent Festival” for 20 minutes. Too much for some viewers.
For the 20th time, ARD showed the “Advent Festival” with Florian Silbereisen on Saturday evening. The “dream ship” captain welcomed stars such as Semino Rossi, DJ Ötzi, Inka Bause and Ross Antony to his stage in Suhl. Each of them sang a Christmas song in the show. One of the most famous songs comes from Rolf Zuckowski. The musician released the hit “In der Weihnachtsbäckerei” in 1987. A song that cannot be missing from the “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”. In recent years it has mostly been sung by other stars – and that’s how it was this year too.
Rolf Zuckowski was a guest on the show himself, but was surprised by Helene Fischer on the show for his anniversary (he published his first song 50 years ago). At 9:39 p.m. the pop singer took the stage in a blue pants suit to thunderous applause. The 40-year-old initially sang his song “How beautiful that you were born” for Rolf Zuckowski with several children.
She then chatted with the musician, his daughter Anouschka and host Florian Silbereisen. Helene Fischer said to Rolf Zuckowski: “Of course you are the reason why I came tonight, because I adore you. And you are also a very, very great person for our music generation and music history.” The singer had interrupted rehearsals for the “Helene Fischer Show” for her appearance in the “Advent Festival”.
After the conversation, the “Atemlos” interpreter performed several songs from her latest album “The Most Beautiful Children’s Songs”. So she sang the song “Tschu Tschu wa” or “Do you know how many little stars there are”. But the musician also took on the performance of “In the Christmas Bakery”.
It was only after almost 20 minutes that Florian Silbereisen said goodbye to his ex-girlfriend. “Dear Helene, it’s incredibly difficult for me, but we now have to slowly send you back to Düsseldorf. I’ll get in trouble with your team and I especially don’t want to get in trouble with you if something doesn’t go as planned at your show “You have planned it,” said the moderator and sent Helene Fischer backstage together with Rolf Zuckowski and daughter Anouschka at 10:01 p.m.
The pop singer’s appearance caused a stir online. Because Helene Fischer took up more space on the show than any other artist that evening. While most musicians were only allowed to perform one song or perhaps a second one, Helene Fischer was given the opportunity to sing five songs from her album in addition to “How beautiful that you were born” and “In the Christmas bakery”. There was no Christmas song among them, as the show actually states.
“Is she about to finish? Nothing against Helene… but why does she get so much airtime?” asked a user on the X platform, for example. “We finally want to hear Christmas songs sung by father and daughter again. Enough extra sausage – “Air time for Helene,” said another. “It would have been enough if she had sung one or two songs like the other guests,” someone else commented.
“It’s a shame that Helene Fischer steals the show from Rolf,” wrote a viewer on Facebook. Rolf Zuckowski only sang one song on the show. Afterwards, Helene Fischer took the stage to honor him. However, some viewers suspect that this is more of a PR strategy. “It’s sad, if Helene hadn’t just released a children’s song album that needed to be promoted, it could have been seen as a nice gesture. But as it is, I find it tasteless.”
The official “Helene Fischer Show” will take place on Christmas Day. The program will be shown on ZDF on December 25th at 8:15 p.m.
