Sheamus’ quest for the Intercontinental championship continues after Survivor Series

Sheamus has been on a long journey to finally win his first Intercontinental championship, a goal he’s been chasing dating back to his main roster debut in 2009. At 46-years-old, he’s running out of time to make it happen.

Perhaps a triple threat match against reigning Champion Breakker and Ludwig Kaiser at tonight’s (Sat., Nov. 30, 2024) Survivor Series premium live event at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada would be where it happens?

Nope.

Of course, Breakker did his usual thing:

But Sheamus was game to fight his way back every time, even if it meant fending off the challenge of both guys. He came oh so close with a couple incredible near falls. That included avoiding Bron’s spear and putting his head into a chair in the corner before following up with a Brogue Kick. Kaiser pulled the referee out just before the third slap of the mat.

In the end, Breakker was given time enough to recover while Sheamus and Kaiser battled it out that he hit a spear on Ludwig to get him out before doing the same to Sheamus. That was enough to retain his title.
