When she was only 14 years old, actress Judith Godrèche had a relationship in which she was under
“grip”with director Benoît Jacquot. The latter was 40 years old at the time of the events. The screenwriter decided to break the silence by filing a complaint for “rape of a minor aged 15 by person in authority“ to the Minor Protection Brigade, his lawyer Me Laure Heinich told AFP.
She also accused another director of sexual violence: Jacques Doillon. But this past November 19, Judith Godrèche announced that she had received a complaint of the latter for defamation. Guest on the set of Daily this Friday, November 29, the 52-year-old activist spoke of her fight to help the victims, but also pointed out the lack of measures taken by the government.
Judith Godrèche: “prevention is nowhere”
“Our weakness is our strength, that is to say that we do not seek to be elected, we speak precisely so that
politicians take up the subjectdo something about it and make a change.”she explains to Yann Barthès. In Michel Barnier's recent announcements, Judith Godrèche underlines that “prevention is nowhere”.
“Prevention, identification of mistreated and abused children at school… Violence starts very small, in families. And that, we really need in one place, the words of Gisèle Pelicot be heard. These words, no other words. What are we doing in our country about male domination? What do we do with this patriarchal society? How can we change things?” she questions.
Judith Godrèche drops a metaphor on Emmanuel Macron
She continues: “I imagine that he has other problems at the moment and that perhaps it is not his priority. That does not mean that the fate of the victims does not interest him, but it is obviously not not his priority, in fact.” For her, the ideal would be thatEmmanuel Macron takes a serious look at the issue.
“It's going to take a lot and a lot of people for this to become someone's priority, and in absolute terms, I think thatit must be the priority of the President of the Republicor one of its priorities”she declares. Even if at the moment, she finds that this is far from being the case.
“When he speaks and pays homage to Gérard Depardieu… It's like in a restaurant, the boss still sets the tone. I don't know if it's a great metaphor, but hey…”she slips.
