According to information from L'Equipe, French international winger (or center) from La Rochelle Teddy Thomas has given his agreement to Toulouse for next season.
If the information is verified, it will certainly be a big blow for Stade Toulousain! The Team reveals this Thursday morning that Teddy Thomas has agreed with the French and European champion club to join next season. The 31-year-old winger, who plays center this season, is coming to the end of his contract with La Rochelle in June, and he has decided to refuse the Maritimes' contract extension offer to join the Rouge et Noir. This will therefore be the fourth club of his career, after Biarritz (2012-14), Racing 92 (2014-22) and La Rochelle. While he played as a winger since the start of his career, Ronan O'Gara decided to place him at center this season. A rather beneficial change, since in six Top 14 matches (three wins, three losses), the native of Biarritz scored five tries, including a double against Stade Toulousain on September 15. Who perhaps definitively convinced the Haut-Garonne leaders, already interested in his profile last summer, to want to recruit him.
85 tests on the clock
He is an experienced player who will arrive next summer (the duration of the contract is not yet known). Teddy Thomas has in fact 27 matches in the BO jersey, 139 with Racing, and 50 with La Rochelle, for 85 tries scored. The center winger has also been selected 28 times for the France team, but not since the Summer Tour to Australia in July 2021which could be very useful to Ugo Mola during periods of doubles. Unless his performances in the red and black jersey convince Fabien Galthié to recall him to blue? In Toulouse, where he will undoubtedly dream of winning another Brennus Shield (after that of 2016 with Racing) he will find his friend Georges-Henri Colombe, who has signed for the next four seasons from La Rochelle.
