Celtic earned another bonus payment from UEFA after their Champions League draw with Club Brugge.

Daizen Maeda struck in the second half to claim a point for Celtic in the league phase after Cameron Carter-Vickers’ calamitous own goal in the first half.

The draw not only helps Celtic in the league phase as they inch towards possible progress into the knockout rounds but also sees a bonus paid by UEFA.

Celtic earned €700k for the draw against Club Brugge with the fee paid to all clubs for draws in the league phase of the elite European competition.

A win would have earned Celtic €2.1m – a figure they earned for both wins over Slovan Bratislava and RB Leipzig.

The point against Atalanta also saw Celtic earn €700k. Celtic banked €18.62m before a ball was kicked purely for their involvement in the Champions League.
