The total could reach 1,282 cuts if employees refuse to change sites, according to the Force Ouvrière union.

The French automotive supplier Valeo – 109,900 employees – has just informed union organizations that eight French sites (Sainte-Florine, , , , , L'Isle-d'Abeau, La Verrière, La Suze-sur- ) will see their workforce reduced. In total, 866 positions will be eliminated in , including 174 through voluntary departures. The Suze-sur-Sarthe factory, which was named this summer among three French sites that could find a buyer, will close.

Operators who wish can be transferred to Sablé-sur-Sarthe. Employees of the La Verrière R&D center (), which will also be closed, will be able to join two other centers, in or Créteil. The L'Isle-d'Abeau site, cited this summer, will be maintained and converted to a new hybridization technology. Some unionists are wondering about the future of the Mondeville factory, which could be taken over.
