French cabaret reinvents itself, between series and modern shows

In 2024, cabaret is still on the rise in France. A French tradition that both entertainment and television professionals bring to life. A new series plunges into the captivating world of Paradis Latin in Paris.
Cabaret remains a tradition for many French people. A group of friends meets in the streets of Paris for a tour of shows: “Every year, we meet in Paris”explains one of them. “We did the Folies Bergères, the Lido and the Moulin Rouge”adds her friend.
Of the more than 200 cabarets in France, the oldest, Paradis Latin, is the setting for a series co-written and played by Dominique Besnehard: That’s Paris!.
With 300 performances per year, the Paradis Latin is always full. The audience is mainly made up of French people. Among the scenes that the public loves, more modern numbers rub shoulders with the traditional French cancan.
