Bayern Munich beat a decimated Paris 1-0 on Tuesday evening. A goalkeeper error put FCB on course.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany made two changes after the 3-0 win against FC Augsburg: Laimer and Sané started for Guerreiro and Olise (both on the bench).
PSG coach Luis Enrique made five changes to his starting eleven after the 3-0 win against FC Toulouse: Nuno Mendes, Pacho, Marquinhos, Vitinha and Fabian started for Skriniar, Lucas Beraldo, Zague, Doué and Asensio (all bench). Somewhat surprisingly, Safonov started in goal again, the fit Donnarumma only sat on the bench.

Bayern started dominantly and quickly had their first chance, but Musiala’s free dropkick was parried by Safonov (7th). FCB wanted to get the game going quickly, but Sané couldn’t find his way past the visitors’ keeper either (12′). The guests from Paris initially struggled on offense and were lucky in the 28th minute when Coman didn’t hit the ball ideally in the penalty area after a great solo.
After about half an hour, the guests found their way better offensively and became more dangerous. Zaire-Emery shot the ball free-standing from 14 meters to the right (29th). And Dembelé also came to a good conclusion: He beat Kim and tested Neuer, and Joao Neves shot the follow-up shot just wide to the right (32′). But Bayern went into the break with a lead – and the visiting keeper helped out a lot: Safonov weakly deflected a Kimmich corner into the middle, where Kim stood and headed in from a few meters (38th).
Dembelé flies – Musiala hits the post
The second round started quietly – until the 56th minute: Dembelé, who had already been warned, tackled Davies from the side and saw the traffic light card. A tough decision. Leadership and superiority: Of course, Bayern now had all the trump cards in their own hands, Coman missed the second goal (67th). With one more man, the home team controlled the game, but did more than was absolutely necessary.
The hosts played very cleverly when they had the majority and didn’t allow anything defensively. Musiala missed the decision at the front and Safonov directed his shot onto the post (74′). The Munich team didn’t have to worry about that anymore, because Bayern defended it seriously to the end and achieved an important 1-0 victory. Paris remains stuck with four points and has to fear elimination in the group phase.
