FC Bayern is restructuring its scouting department. A new chief scout, Nils Schmadtke, was recently hired. According to current reports, the Munich team has two more new additions.

Munich – Not only has a lot happened in the professional area at FC Bayern in the last few months, there have also been many personnel changes in the youth and scouting areas at the Isar. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have repeatedly made it clear that there is still a need for optimization in these two areas. Among other things, the FCB has separated from its chief scout Markus Pilawa and hired a new head of scouting, Nils Schmadtke.

Schmadtke himself also found what he was looking for when looking for fresh staff. The first reports began circulating in September that Bayern were interested in former Schalke sports director André Hechelmann. How Sky reports, the move to the German record champions is imminent. Accordingly, only the final details remain to be clarified. If everything goes according to plan, the 40-year-old could start at FCB as early as December.

Christoph Kresse is also on the way

Exactly what role Hechelmann could play in FC Bayern’s scouting area remains open. From 2019 to 2021 he was chief scout at Mainz 05 before moving to FC Schalke. He initially started there as chief scout and was promoted to sports director after two years. Following the arrival of Marc Wilmots, he took on the role of technical director. In March of this year, the team was finally eliminated from the second division team.
