It is an occasion to reaffirm the Kingdom of Morocco’s firm position on the justice and centrality of the Palestinian issue, as it is the key to peace, security and stability in the Middle East region, within the framework of an internationally agreed upon two-state solution, in which Gaza is an integral part of the independent Palestinian territories.

We also renew the full solidarity of the Kingdom of Morocco and its unconditional support for the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Your Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The tragic conditions in the Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip, and the regional and international challenges they pose question the global conscience, and require decisive intervention, for an immediate, comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire, more joint collective action to support and protect human rights in the Palestinian territories, and the implementation of relevant UN resolutions. Full respect for the requirements of international law and international humanitarian law.

In light of the dangerous and unprecedented field developments in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the Kingdom of Morocco expresses its deep concern about the tragic conditions resulting from the continued Israeli invasion of the Strip, which has so far claimed the lives of tens of thousands of dead and wounded innocent and defenseless civilians, and deprived millions of Palestinian citizens. Among their basic rights are housing, lunch, health, clean water, education and security, as well as pushing them toward displacement and migration, due to the massive destruction. And the comprehensive damage to the infrastructure of this region.

In light of this difficult and unacceptable circumstance, on a humanitarian, legal and moral level, the Kingdom of Morocco reaffirms, as it has always done in various regional and international forums, the following:

– First: The necessity of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and putting an end to the repeated attacks on the peaceful residents of the West Bank and the city of Jerusalem.

Second: Work to ensure the protection of civilians and prevent their targeting and bloodshed throughout the Palestinian territories.

– Third: Emphasizing the necessity of opening all crossings immediately and permanently, without restrictions or conditions, to ensure the secure access of humanitarian and relief aid and various medical supplies and basic needs, with the required smoothness and in sufficient quantities to the residents of the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian territories;

– Fourth: Preserving, strengthening and supporting the role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Fifth: Rejection of all displacement of Palestinian citizens, as well as full commitment to international law and international humanitarian law.

Sixth: Launching serious and purposeful negotiations to revive the peace process, in accordance with United Nations resolutions and international legitimacy.

Your Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The past years have witnessed an important qualitative leap in the work of this esteemed committee, on the path to continuing to fulfill its responsibilities towards the Palestinian issue and defending the rights of the Palestinian people, through annual programs and projects established for this purpose.

However, commemorating this day in light of the unfortunate confrontations that the region has witnessed for more than a year, and the continuation of the Israeli military invasion of the Gaza Strip, requires the entire world to take urgent and immediate action to stop the war, oblige Israel to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip, and allow the return of the displaced and displaced, in the context of launching an operation Reconstructing what was destroyed by this war.

In the face of the impasse that the peace process in the Middle East has reached, under these difficult circumstances, we renew our call to the international community, especially the influential and influential countries in the conflict, to launch intensive diplomatic efforts with a new and effective dynamism, to bring all concerned parties back to the negotiating table, with the prospect of reaching an agreement. A comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue, and building a shared future for the coming Palestinian and Israeli generations, within the framework of the two-state solution.

For its part, the Kingdom of Morocco supports all constructive initiatives, which aim to find practical solutions to achieve a tangible and permanent ceasefire and address the humanitarian situation.

It will continue its tireless and usual efforts, investing in its distinguished position and relations with the concerned parties and active international forces, in order to provide the appropriate conditions to return to the negotiating table, as it is the only way to put a final end to the conflict and achieve security and stability in the Middle East region.

We do not miss the occasion of holding a committee meeting to value and encourage all national reconciliation initiatives between the Palestinian brothers, in a way that serves their noble project of establishing their independent state. We express our full support for the Palestinian National Authority, under the leadership of our brother, His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, in its efforts to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people for freedom and independence. , security, unity and prosperity.

Your Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The unilateral measures and repeated Israeli provocations against the Holy City of Jerusalem undermine all efforts at calm and undermine any international initiative to stop the manifestations of violence, tension and tension.

As Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, emanating from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, we have been personally keen to make all possible efforts, and to invest all available means, in order to preserve the legal, historical and demographic status of the Holy City, as a meeting place for followers of the three monotheistic monotheistic religions.

In this context, we reiterate that the Kingdom of Morocco will continue its tireless efforts to defend the Holy City, through political and diplomatic action.

The Jerusalem Bayt Mal Agency, as an executive and field mechanism for the Jerusalem Committee, will also continue its work in implementing concrete plans and projects, primarily aimed at preserving the cultural identity of the Holy City, improving the social and living conditions of Jerusalemites, and supporting their steadfastness.

Your Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

In light of the humanitarian catastrophe that our brothers in Gaza are experiencing, I ordered, on three occasions, the sending of urgent humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip, the delivery of which was secured by opening an unprecedented road, which took on a special character, as it also included equipment for treating burns, surgical emergencies, and basic medicines, in A time when the medical sector in Gaza is suffering from a state of near collapse, as a result of the scarcity of medical supplies and medicines.

The efforts and endeavors undertaken by the Kingdom of Morocco in favor of the Palestinian cause are a sincere and continuous commitment supported by concrete field measures, receiving all appreciation and praise from our Palestinian brothers, leadership and people.

While we congratulate your esteemed committee for its sincere and continuous efforts, we renew our full support for its noble endeavors, in order to support legitimate and inalienable Palestinian rights, as well as to contribute to international efforts aimed at achieving peace, stability, coexistence and prosperity for the benefit of all the peoples of the region.
