Sheffield United’s win takes them top as Sunderland are held by West Brom. Leeds can reclaim top spot if they beat Luton on Wednesday. Hull – who sacked Liam Rosenior for finishing in seventh last season – are mired in the bottom three.

Yikes: it’s finished Norwich 6-1 Plymouthwhile Sheffield United have beaten Oxford 3-0 and Wednesday have won 2-0 at Hull.

City aside, both Bayern and Inter are holding on to one-goal leads. Can 10-man PSG, or winless RB Leipzig, hit back? Time is running out …

Viktor Gyokeres hasn’t had his best night, but almost gets on the scoresheet with a thumping effort that clangs off the crossbar. At the Etihad, De Bruyne’s attempt at a settler is tipped behind by the keeper.

Eek! City nerves are jangling as Lotomba’s effort rebounds off the post, goes through Ederson and is chested into the empty net by Santiago Gimenez. It couldn’t happen, could it?

Leandro Trossard gets Arsenal’s fifth! Merino is given too much space to shoot and his well-struck effort is spilled by the keeper, allowing the Belgian to finish on the rebound.

Jamal Musiala has a chance to seal victory for Bayern, but his shot is pushed onto the post by Safonov. As it stands, though, PSG will be stuck on four points, with games against Salzburg (A), Man City (H) and Stuttgart (A) to come.

City’s defensive frailties return as a number of players fail to deal with a loose ball effectively, allowing Anis Hadj Moussa to go round Ederson and finish from a tight angle.

The Europop is blaring in Leverkusen once agein, as Aleix Garcia finishes off a quick break to make it five.

A fine save from David Raya to deny Hjulmand, whose low shot through a crowd of legs looked to be creeping in at the far post. Also being kept busy is Yann Sommer, twice denying RB Leipzig and preserving Inter’s place at the top of the Champions League MegaTable.

Job probably done for Barcelona, as Dani Olmo cuts in from the left and fires a shot through the keeper at the near post.

Patrik Schick gets in on the act with a clinical finish, adding to Pep Lijnders’ woes. Salzburg are sixth in the Austrian league at the minute, which I would imagine is not nearly acceptable.

This is precisely what Arsenal needed, the pressure evaporating as Bukayo Saka finds the corner with his spot kick. It was awarded for a frankly terrible challenge on Odegaard by Diomande – thankfully, the Gunners captain seems to be fine.

PSG embarrass themselves in Europe, part 1,057: with the ball at his feet in the Bayern area, Ousmane Dembélé contrives to lose possession and then kicks out at the nearest defender. Second yellow, and he’s off.

Sporting with plenty of possession, but Arsenal are staying organised and sitting deep, with Raya only called on to repel an ambitious shot from a tight angle.

In the Championship, a tough night for Mr Coleen Rooney as Norwich lead Plymouth 4-1, Borja Sainz completing his hat-trick. Elsewhere, Watford lead Bristol City 1-0.

It’s men against Young Boys here, as Charles De Ketelaere continues a fine evening’s work with his second goal, curled in from the edge of the area.

“Brest’s Ludovic Ajorque is a fun player to watch,” notes Kari Tulinius. “An absolute unit, taller than Haaland, but something about how he’s built makes it seem that he’s a normal sized player standing closer to the camera than the player marking him.”

Also, who doesn’t love a bald No 9? Big Jan Koller vibes, although nobody ever mistook him for a normal-sized man.

City starting to enjoy themselves, as Erling Haaland slides in to convert Matheus Nunes’ cross. Is he back? Are they back?

Bad news for Celtic’s title party planners, currently mulling a Black Friday champagne deal: Aberdeen have levelled at Easter Road, Jamie McGrath with the goal.

Breathing space for City, as Ilkay Gundogan’s volley from a half-cleared corner is deflected into the net off Hancko’s heel.

Oof! Sporting make a dent in the Arsenal lead, and it’s a soft goal from the visitors’ perspective, with Goncalo Inacio free to head home a corner at the near post. Game on?

We’re back and already, there are goals …

Good news for Celtic’s title party planners: Aberdeen are a goal down at Hibernian. Joe Newell scored the opener just before half time; the second half has just kicked off.

What’s afoot in the Championship? Well, goals have been in short supply – Stoke v Preston, Watford v Bristol City and Sunderland v West Brom are all goalless – but Burnley have just taken the lead over Coventry, Jeremy Sarmiento on target.

Elsewhere, Norwich lead Plymouth 2-1, Sheffield United are 2-0 up on Oxford and Sheffield Wednesday lead at Hull thanks to a Josh Windass penalty.

Bayern finish the half on top, Joshua Kimmich going close. They take a deserved lead into the break after a lively first half, thanks to Kim Min-jae’s header from a corner.

An exceptional first-half display from Arsenal, who are making very light work of a tough-looking game. Martinelli, Havertz and Gabriel all on target, and the job is almost done.

If I tell you this goal was scored by Gabriel Magalhães, can you picture it? It’s that, basically. Declan Rice swings in a perfect corner, which is headed home by the onrushing centre-back. He celebrates with what looks like a play on Gyokeres’ celebration, covering his eyes with his hands.

City take the lead at the end of a frustrating first half, with Erling Haaland smashing home the spot-kick after a long old VAR check. More on that here:
