On this international day to combat violence against women, Brigitte Macron spoke for the first time about the Mazan rape affair. While 20 years of imprisonment were requested against Dominique Pelicot by the public prosecutor this Monday, November 25, the wife of the President of the Republic declared that “this trial was essential”, at the microphone of BFMTV.

She wanted to provide “her unconditional support to all women”, believing “that things needed to be said and they are”. Saying she is behind in this area, Brigitte Macron assured that she took the cause to heart. “It's true that we see me more in the field of childhood and adolescence but I am with all women in all the struggles. Everywhere we go in the world we see to what extent it is necessary that “We are fighting because rights (of women, editor's note) are increasingly in decline,” she told our colleagues.
