Encouraging results. This Monday, November 25, for the first part of the review, Karine Le Marchand invites the farmers of the 19th season of “L’amour est dans le pré” to a campsite. The opportunity to look back on their adventure and especially on their love life. After fourteen weeks of broadcast, this season stands out particularly for its impressive results: eight couples formed out of the twelve candidates, a record which had not been reached for six seasons. It must be said that one fact stands out this year: the great evolution of the candidates, who, this time, seem to have reached a milestone in terms of openness and communication.
“The farmers of this edition had great emotional maturity”
Questioned by “Télé 2 Semaines”, the host detailed what, according to her, contributed to this success. “We didn't see anything coming but we knew that the farmers in this edition had great emotional maturity. Many went to see psychologists and managed to verbalize their difficulties. These are people for whom it is easier to meet someone. We are far from the silent peasant!“, she confides. For her, these candidates not only worked on their image, but also took the time to explore their own inner life, which facilitated their romantic encounter. “The assessment is often an important step because effectively, the duos choose to commit or not. It accelerates the reflection process which would perhaps take more time if there was not this deadline. It obliges to ask the real questions“, she adds.

“Participants even give us real lessons in humility, like Valentin who is there for Flavie (suffering from cancer, editor's note) even though they have only known each other for a week. It also shows that young people are capable of getting involved“, she adds about the young farmer, who decided to stay by his new lover's side during his fight against illness. “They managed to verbalize their functioning and their journey. They think a lot, ruminate, reflect, verbalize. It's easier to meet someone when you express who you are. And everyone expresses themselves, they are open books. It's quite easy“, notes Karine Le Marchand in another interview given to “Télé-Loisirs”.
A psychologist available during filming
The host, who has already started filming the first portraits of the following season, which will celebrate the program's twenty years, remains confident about the future of her show, while psychological support is now an integral part of the process. meeting. Last August, the presenter confided to “Télé 7 jours” that she herself had introduced the presence of a psychologist on the set of the show. “It was I who established it, fifteen years ago“, she explained. “Between the moment when we present the candidates and when the girls come to the farm, there are sometimes 6 months during which, from now on, they can begin personal work.detailed the host.
A choice motivated by the need to support candidates, often faced with strong emotions and sudden media exposure. “If each of us were filmed during our flirting period, that would also be therapeutic. It's one thing to want to experience a love story, it's another to experience the beginning of one and realize how wrong you are about yourself. When we meet our farmers, they are very lonely and they are very courageous to admit it“, she explained. “The look of others and the fact of being thrown out into the media a bit as they come out of their campaign is something that can be upsetting for them.“, she emphasized. “When they are confronted with romantic feelings and emotions, it can awaken abandonment or unhealed grief which can be devastating.“.
Support that lasts
This season 19 has highlighted the importance of this psychological support, as evidenced by Manuela, the ornamental chicken breeder. After welcoming Didier and Pierre into her home, Manuela did not hide that the adventure had “brewed”. During the assessment, she wanted to emphasize the importance of the psychological support she received during the show. “She's still there“, she confides to “Télé-Loisirs”, speaking of the show's psychologist. “I think it's great. It’s important because it allows you to take a step back.”explains Manuela, who did not hesitate to contact the professional on several occasions. “She really helped me. She's great. It's complicated to manage your emotions“, she notes. Manuela also describes how the psychologist intervened regularly to help her overcome difficult times: “When she knows that I'm on (on television, editor's note), we sometimes call each other on Mondays and she says to me: 'You send me a message if it doesn't go well' and when I do, a quarter of an hour afterwards, I have an answer: we set up a meeting or we send each other three text messages, and that unlocks the thing“.
