León shouts no to gender violence: “It is not an ideological invention”

Next to them, a protester, in pure white and with a covered face, carried an obituary with the names of all the women victims of gender violence who died since the last 25-N. “We are not all here, the murdered ones are missing,” they cried.

Denialism gains followers

The demonstration advanced through Ordoño II with shouts and chants against gender violence and those who remain silent and look the other way: “They are accomplices.” And the “denialism” of this reality has increased, explains Gutiérrez: “The number of people who believe that this is an ideological invention has grown.” “Whoever denies sexist violence lies, helps perpetuate it and is an accomplice,” he points out.

Errejón has also been mentioned by the protesters in these chants, very critical of all the 'legs' of the scourge, where the political class has been urged to take measures: “The administrations have to focus on raising awareness, on co-education, prevention and affective-sexual education. “It is not only enough to legislate, it must be applied,” said the president of Simone de Beauvoir.

In this sense, they applaud the fact that the State Pact against Gender Violence – which is 20 years old – will be renewed, but asking for “mandatory measures that go to the root of the problem” and that the funds allocated to this be monitored. end “so that the money does not go to superfluous things.”
