The independent candidate Călin Georgescu stated, on Monday, that he is not an extremist, as he is “accused”, but is only “a Romanian who loves his country”. He also addressed Elena Lasconi, to whom he told her that she had no reason to be happy that she entered the second round of the presidential elections.
“Ms. Lasconi, I will be very direct with you and the rest of the parties. You have nothing to be happy about. The people are not happy with what the politicians have done these years. Including you were, and are part of this political project that brought us the current, disastrous state.
Why are you glad you made it to round 2? Are you conveying the joy of the party electorate? You should have run for this people, not just for the party electorate, or against me.
My dears, we all have a great, noble mission, we will make history, as I said, and not politics.
An extremely difficult year is coming, the real earthquake is coming, and it will be an economic one, especially,” said Călin Georgescu in a video.
The candidate, who entered the second round of the presidential elections, said that the current political class has disappointed the electorate for 35 years.
“Unfortunately, you politicians are the ones who moved these tectonic plates against our country, that’s why I always urged you to make peace with each other, so that you can have peace with the Romanian people.
You have spent millions of euros on this campaign, just to show us war as a slave, when you could have taught a valuable lesson through the art of peace.
Our partners can wait a few days, and then we can work together for the good of all.
I am accused of extremism. False. Totally fake. I am completely dedicated to the Romanian people. We remain directly linked to European values, but we must find our values.
I’m not an extremist, I’m not a fascist, I’m a Romanian who loves his country”, added the independent candidate.
Regarding the orientation of our country, he commented that “there is no East or West, there is only Romania”, and about the standard of living in our country, that “suffering does not come from Brussels, but from our souls”.
