The final count of the votes made in the city of Cluj-Napoca, the liberal fiefdom led by Emil Boc, shows that Elena Lasconi won here by a large margin compared to the candidate placed in the second position. Nicolae Ciucă had a weaker result even than the one recorded at the national level.

Thus, the final counting of votes shows that Elena Lasconi obtained over 40% of the votes of the Cluj residents, while Călin Georgescu had less than half of the score registered at the national level:

  • Elena Lasconi: 40.48%, with 71,506 votes;
  • Călin Georgescu: 10.76%, 19010 votes;
  • Mircea Geoană: 9.66%, 17,067 votes;
  • Kelemen Hunor: 8.65%, 15,291 votes;
  • Marcel Ciolacu: 8.26%, 14,600;
  • Nicolae Ciucă: 7.85%, 13,881.

AUR leader George Simion got 13,040 votes in Cluj-Napoca (7.38%), while Cristian Diaconescu got 7,183 votes (4.06%). The rest of the candidates had less than 2%.

Although at the national level he finished in 5th place in the first round of the presidential elections, in Cluj-Napoca Nicolae Ciucă placed sixth in the voters' preferences in the conditions where he was overtaken by both Mircea Geoană and Kelemen Hunor.

The AUR leader, on the other hand, had a result below the one recorded at the national level, finishing in 7th position.

At the Cluj county level, Elena Lasconi obtained 30.38% of the votes cast. She is followed by Călin Georgescu (15.37%), George Simion (10.82%), Marcel Ciolacu (10.56%), Nicolae Ciucă (9.55%), Kelemen Hunor (9%) and Mircea Geoană ( 8.05%), according to the final vote count.

In Bihor, the liberal fiefdom led by Ilie Bolojan, Ciucă finished in 4th place, over Elena Lasconi, however. Bolojan was one of the first liberal leaders to criticize the PNL campaign, after the exit polls were published on Sunday evening.
