This Sunday, November 24, a little before 8:30 p.m., Haute-Garonne emergency services were called following a fall on the Cépière racecourse in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne).
As part of the Ourour Prize, the Basque jockey Ioritz Mendizabal fell. He had to be evacuated to the hospital.
“A spectacular fall mid-straight“, specifies Paris Turf. “The jockey was stunned by the violence of the impact. He was evacuated to a hospital for examinations.“.
Ioritz Mendizabal is a brilliant and renowned jockey. Aged 50, he has won gold four times. In 2005, a fall, already at the Toulouse racecourse, had kept him away from the racing fields for six weeks.
