Budimir clashes with Gerard

The afternoon aimed to have a unique and unavoidable protagonist in El Sadar: Ante Budimir. The Croatian was the living image of an exceptional first half for Osasuna. But, as in a good movie, an antagonist always appears and that was Gerard Moreno. The Spanish international was a pain in the ass for the Rojillos and ended up making the afternoon bitter for Budimir, Osasuna and all of El Sadar.

Osasunismo cannot be satisfied with focusing all the shots on Munuera Montero who was at a very low level but for both teams. The referee added some very strange actions and had excessive permission in the tackles on Aimar Oroz, who was beaten with blows. But the penalty against is just as much of a penalty as the one in favor. Torró, who was coming off a notable game, made a mistake grabbing the Villarreal player and that’s it. That could have been pointed out by any of the other twenty that occurred in that play on one side or the other, but the rojillos should never have reached that situation with the game the way they had it.

The problem is that Osasuna conceded too much in the second half. The change of Gerard Moreno turned around a match that until then had been pleasant for the rojillos. Even joyful. All on the back of Budimir, but above all a daring and aggressive approach in the pressure that caused Villarreal to be a lesser team, when it had been exhibiting a tremendous game in the previous days.

But the rojillos lacked the agility to understand that the game had changed and then some energy from the bench. One of the few worrying things that Osasuna has right now is the feeling of gap that is being created between those who play very regularly and those who do not. And this will be difficult to change if someone does not come out with a higher intensity when it is their turn, for whatever minutes.

Another point up for grabs in a match that will leave the fight between two forwards of tremendous stature in the memory and the feeling that Osasuna missed two points that would have helped get closer to the main objective but, above all, increase the dream of a historic season. A shame, although the count is still very favorable.
