Sunday November 24, 2024, Michel Drucker presented as usual a new issue of his cult show Looking forward to Sunday on France 3. For the record, the host has been at the head of this weekly meeting since 1998. Initially programmed on France 2, the talk show finally migrated to France 3 in 2021. Like every week, Michel Drucker welcomed several guests on his legendary red sofa. Among the latter, we can notably cite the famous director Claude Lelouch, who recently released the 51st film of his career as a filmmaker in the cinema. For the occasion, the director was accompanied on set by his wife, Valérie Perrin. A novelist by profession, she notably collaborated on several feature films directed by her partner as co-writer. But also as a set photographer on certain shoots.
During his interview with Claude Lelouch, Michel Drucker released a revelation which surprised the filmmaker. “I knew Valérie a long time ago. She came to see me in Monceau-les-Mines, with her mother. Excuse me Claude, I knew your wife before you”first declared the host. “I’m learning things! I did well to come”the director immediately replied with a broad smile on his lips. “We both came to see you because, even today, we never missed a Michel Drucker show. Michel, for me it’s god!“then clarified Valérie Perrin, which made Claude Lelouch react again. “She didn’t say that to me!”exclaimed the novelist’s husband. “Meeting Michel was incredible”then added the filmmaker's wife.
Michel Drucker spoke about his past as a sports reporter in front of Claude Lelouch and Valérie Perrin
“What's great is that I have a background as a sports reporter. I commentated on five (football) World Cups. I went to all the stadiums. It was my life. I went to Gueugnon. Why am I talking about it, because your dad was a football player. We have a photo of him“, Michel Drucker subsequently told Valérie Perrin, before revealing the famous photo of the writer's father on the air. “Yes, that's when he arrived in 1968. He was recruited by the Gueugnon football team. Yvan and Francine Perrin spent their lives in Gueugnon. They still live in Gueugnon. And it’s thanks to football that I grew up in Gueugnon“, explained the novelist, before concluding by specifying that “Gueugnon is in all (his) novels“.
