Météo- has placed six departments on orange alert for violent winds for the day of Monday, November 25.

The windy episode will begin in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques this Sunday.

Up to 120 km/h expected

The strong wind is expected to continue throughout the day, and the warning is orange “could be extended”.

The episode will then move from west to east and back towards the center of France. “During the night from Sunday to Monday, the southerly wind will strengthen over the Hautes-Pyrénées. Gusts reaching 100 km/h in the valleys are not excluded”anticipates Météo-France. “The southerly wind will also strengthen over the Massif Central (gusts of 90 to 100 km/h, even 110 km/h in Haute-Loire). These strong winds extend to the south of Lyonnais and the valley of Gier Monday morning, with gusts reaching 100 to 110 km/h (locally 120 km/h in the Gier valley).”
