There were tens of thousands who marked the date of this Milan-Juve a few months ago, in the heart of summer, already imagining this Saturday, November 23 as a suitable date to host this timeless classic of Serie A. But on the mediocre lawn of a San Siro full as an egg, the Devil did not offer much to reverse Bianconeri who once again leave the legendary Milanese enclosure with a point. This is all there is to remember from this shock which never really began and which ended under the loud whistles of the tifosis Rossoneri.
At the end of boredom
Deprived of the injured Dusan Vlahović, Juve traveled to San Siro with one idea: to repeat the explosive second half which had already placed the recent Inter-Juve in the pantheon of the best posters of the season. Opposite, Milan had another intuition: to win, whatever the price to pay, with Theo Hernandez and Rafa Leão from the start, to get back in the footsteps of the leading group with still this late match to make up for on the Bologna pitch . But then, after a few minutes, reality brings everyone back to their senses: Milan is not looking its best in each of its outings since the start of this 2024-2025 season, and that evening seems to be one of those where the Milanese giant stammers his football. Leão spends his time passing from behind, Álvaro Morata takes mandals from Federico Gatti, in short Michele Di Gregorio spends a quiet evening.
In the opposing camp, things are hardly more flamboyant: apart from Francisco Conceição who has fire in his legs, the Turin collective is in management mode. Result: apart from a strike from Gatti that was pleasant for Mike Maignan to catch and an off-target header from Morata at the end of the second half, not much to get their teeth into. Spoiler: the sequel is not much more pleasant.
Missed return
As if it were written that this Milan-Juve would definitely not be a great advertisement for Serie A, the second act resumed on the same bases as the first. Fouls, ball protection along the touchline, Fonseca getting angry about a (non)foul logically not called on Leão in the area, position-for-position changes, closed faces, failed checks, all the panoply of the purge was displayed before the disappointed eyes of the supporters who had sacrificed an evening of their lives for this sad spectacle.
For those who are most attentive, obviously the convincing performance of Khephren Thuram on the Juve side will have convinced the biggest tactical fans present in the Milanese lair. But other than that, nothing, nothing and nothing again. At the final whistle, following yet another poorly played ball by the incoming Samuel Chukwueze, the Milanese went into the shower with boos ringing in their ears. In the rankings, they are still six points behind a top 6 who are determined not to wait for them on the way. Be careful, because up front, it goes pretty fast.
