The custody of Christopher Sebaoun, municipal councilor (not included) within the majority of the city of Tours, has been lifted, the Tours public prosecutor indicated this Friday. The elected delegate for issues relating to the Loire and Cher, the preservation of river heritage and aquifer resources received a criminal order for use of narcotics, according to information from France Bleu Touraine. He admitted to investigators that he was a regular drug user.
The elected official had been arrested and placed in police custody the day before as part of an investigation into drug trafficking. A police warning revealed by our colleagues from Europe 1 (which indicate that the elected official was until then unknown to the police services) that the prosecution confirmed with France Bleu Touraine. The investigation continues and is now focusing on the suppliers.
What reaction does Tours town hall have?
The Town Hall of Tours had, initially, assured that Christopher Sebaoun would be “suspended from all its delegations in the event of indictment“. Which is not the case in this specific case, since the elected official received the equivalent of a large fine. The fact remains that he recognized the facts and that the question of his continuation can legitimately arise.
Upstream, opposition municipal councilor LR Olivier Lebreton reacted toonce again, what an image for our city“.
