Caution on the roads: snow and ice vigilance is still in progress, which greatly complicates traffic.

The “snow-ice” alert is classified orange by Météo until 10 a.m., then should switch to yellow. It is cold in the department (0° in Orléans, -2° in Montargis and Lorris, for example). The night frosts made the roadway extremely slippery in the Orléans metropolitan area.

Be careful, therefore, if you are traveling, whether on foot, by car or by bike. By mid-morning, due to the sun, the snow is melting. This is already the case in Gien and Montargis.

On the roads

The Métropole specifies that “the Orléans Métropole teams are mobilized as planned. The main roads are secure” and traffic in the city center of Orléans is happening without too much trouble.

On the other hand, for the secondary network, “it remains complicated, the teams are being processed. Teams are also carrying out manual operations to secure pedestrian movements and access to public buildings.”

Public transport

Transport is still disrupted, particularly bus lines. On the other hand, tram B is running again (one direction was restored more quickly than the other).

As a reminder, school transport in the department (Rémi) is not operating this morning and until midday. For this afternoon, information will fall in the morning.

On the highway

On the A10 motorway, travel times are also extended:

Furthermore, according to the Métropole d'Orléans, due to snow and ice, accidents occurred last night on the A10 motorway. Entrances to the A10 at the La Chapelle-Saint Mesmin, Saran and Olivet tolls are closed.

9:45 a.m.: return to normal on the A10 motorway. The entrances to the A10 from Orléans Sud, Orléans Center and Orléans are once again accessible.

Power outages
The Centre-Val de region was swept throughout the night by Storm Caetano which is still continuing its course and bringing with it ice and localized snow showers, which is slowing down the progress of the teams in the sectors concerned. The electricity distribution network faced strong winds and (sticky) snowfall which caused trees or branches to fall on the cables.
In the field, 220 Enedis technicians and service providers are already hard at work restoring electricity to our customers in very difficult traffic and access conditions.
At 8 a.m. this Friday, 1,800 customers were still without electricity. In Eure-et-Loir, more affected, there are 14,500.

Provisional assessment of firefighters

Between Thursday, November 21, 8 a.m. and 6 a.m. the next day, fifty municipalities are affected by various interventions by the Loiret firefighters. In total, twenty-eight road accidents (single vehicles, vehicles against pedestrians, heavy goods vehicles, etc.) required their intervention for a total toll of thirty-nine victims, including nineteen in relative emergency, transported on the various hospital centers. Several accidents have been observed on the A10 and A71 motorways, causing total traffic closures.

In addition, there were 47 tree falls on public roads; 7 interventions for falling electrical wires or impacts on transformers; 4 secure telephone poles.

Thirty vehicles were in intervention at the peak, spread across the entire territory, for seventy-seven firefighters. The latter call for limiting travel and remaining vigilant on roadways that are still slippery.

Disruptions for trains

This morning, difficulties were reported between and , which has consequences for train departures from Orléans to the south.

Towards , the trains have to slow down.

Waste collection disrupted
The trucks did not leave this morning in the Orléans metropolis. Catch-up for the sectors concerned on November 25 and 26.
Disturbances also in the east of the department, in the 3CBO:
