Eddy Mitchell delivers
In addition to his album, Eddy Mitchell released a book during the month of November. Entitled Autobiography, the 82-year-old singer tells his story, as he rarely does. He says almost everything about his childhood, his career and his life.
In this book, Eddy Mitchell spoke of his great friend Johnny Hallyday. “I'm angry with him for believing he was invulnerable, and for making us believe it. He thought he would get through everything. He wanted to remain the strongest, like a demigod. And we wanted it for him too.” he said with great frankness, 7 years after the death of Taulier. They shared his last moments together on stage with the tour of Old Plows.
He also talked about his role as a father, which is not always easy with his job which has caused him to be absent a lot. “Not a bad father but an absent father” he said. Eddy Mitchell also opened up about his gaming addiction and how his wife helped him get over it, to the point of being banned from casinos, because he was in a vicious vicious circle. His wife gave him an ultimatum. “Was it the game or her” he wrote in his book.
After having written on paper his whole life, Eddy Mitchell will once again confide but in front of the camera this time. Last month, Eddy Mitchell had discussed his political opinions on the radio. He explained that he was against the National Rally. And he, who had never hidden himself from voting, has indeed changed his mind and is going to the polls.
