Most of the departments of Occitanie are on yellow alert for gusty winds. Storm Caetano is also hitting the rest of the country where many departments are on orange alert, particularly for “snow and ice”.
This Thursday, November 21, 2024, snow fell in many regions of France. This is the Caetano storm which hit a huge part of the country. This morning, 58 departments were on orange alert.
From Brittany to the Loire, snowfall surprised residents this morning. Snowfall which continued this afternoon from Normandy to the north of Burgundy Franche-Comté with the Parisian basin according to information from The Weather Channel.
Wind gusts of 100 to 110 km/h in Hérault
In Occitania, no snow alerts but rather alerts for gusts of wind. In its last 4 p.m. bulletin, VigiMetéoFrance announces a yellow warning for wind in most departments of Occitanie. The Hérault prefecture also fears gusts which could go from 100 to 110 km/h.

Wind alerts which also affect the entire western coast of the country. Aveyron is placed on yellow alert for the wind but also for “rain-flood”. Only the Pyrénées-Orientales remain green. For the day of Friday, November 22, at present, the meteorological body announces a return to green for Aveyron. The other departments remain in yellow for “vent” when Lozère is on yellow alert for “vent” but also for “snow-ice”.
