Panicked, the driver responsible tried to flee on foot after removing his license plates, but he was quickly arrested. Indicted for homicide and involuntary injuries, he was incarcerated on Monday.
A respected teacher
Jean-François Baudic, 50, was a respected and appreciated figure at the Colbert high school in Lorient, where he had taught engineering sciences for more than 12 years. Described by his colleagues as a calm, caring and involved teacher, he was also very popular with his students.
Father of two children, the latter was also a man passionate about cinema and music. A founding member of Radio Balises, a local community radio station, he participated in broadcasts, sharing his electro-pop favorites in monthly compilations.
