Ramona Bachmann: Happy baby thanks to sperm donation in Spain

Ramona Bachmann is happy with her baby. As the Nati star announced on Instagram, his wife Charlotte Baret is pregnant. The two shared the good news with a creative video. “The joy is of course huge,” the 33-year-old told 20 Minutes one day after the announcement.

In the video, the expectant parents do not reveal whether it will be a boy or a girl. “We know the gender,” admits Bachmann. She was too impatient, says Bachmann. “But it doesn’t matter, the main thing is that our child will be healthy,” explains the striker, who now plays in the USA.

So the fans have to be patient until the gender reveal. The two already have a name, but here too the 151-time international player is keeping a low profile. But Bachmann reveals another secret.

“Although sperm donation is very popular in the USA, we did it in Spain,” reveals Bachmann, who has already played in England, Sweden, Germany and . During her time at Saint-Germain she also met her wife Charlotte Baret. Last winter the two married on La Réunion, Baret’s homeland.

In the video, Bachmann and Badet also give information about the birth date. They tagged the post with the numbers 10, 5 and 25, which suggests May 10, 2025. The attacker also confirmed this to 20 Minutes: “The due date is the beginning of May.”

And so the youngsters arrive shortly before the sporting highlight of the year. The home European Championships are coming up for Bachmann and the Swiss national team in the summer. “It’s extra motivation for the European Championships, not that I need it,” she says at the time. But there are definitely feelings of happiness that she can take into the tournament, says Bachmann.

In addition to the many emotions, there is also a difficult time for the expectant parents. “We have to find a good balance,” says the Lucerne native confidently. She also already has clear ideas when it comes to education.

“It’s about us being able to pass on our values and how we live our values,” says Bachmann. But she didn’t want to go into more detail. After the good news, the job is now waiting for Bachmann again. With the national team, the team leader will meet Germany next week in Letzigrund and then shortly later in Sheffield against the European champions from England.
