After occupying, bombing and flooding the city in the south of the country, Russian troops are launching killer drone assaults there. Sadly accustomed, the population is redoubled in ingenuity to thwart the explosives aimed at them.
The threat lurks up there, remotely controlled, somewhere in this gray sky of Kherson. It can be heard and hums dozens of meters above people's heads, sowing anxiety among the inhabitants of this martyred city, shelled too many times. There is a danger, even more vicious, which is added to that of artillery. Russian drone attacks have been increasing in recent weeks, with a deadly modus operandi: attaching an explosive, like an unpinned grenade, to a drone, before its pilot drops its contents or directly loads its target. “In recent weeks, we have detected them more and more often, without necessarily seeing them, I heard seven or eight in one night,” relates Asia, a young woman with dark hair who runs a café in the center.
In Kherson, one misfortune does not wait for the other.
