Islam El Shater, Egyptian national team manager, born in 2005, spoke about the level of the Pharaohs in the North African Championship qualifying for the Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs achieved victory over Libya by two goals to one, in the second round of the ongoing North African Championship in Egypt.
Look…Micali: We needed to win against Libya…and time is not on our side
Islam Al-Shater said, on On Time Sports: “It is not true that Egypt does not qualify for the African Nations, whether the tournament is on our soil or outside it. We are awaiting the results of the rest of the teams in the next two rounds, as we will face the Tunisian national team on the 26th.”
He continued: “The official page of the North African Union announced that Morocco has qualified for the African Nations, and this makes Morocco’s next match against Tunisia of no importance to them, which worries me.”
He added: “The qualification system for the North African Championship is unfair, because all the participating teams are strong: Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria. I hope this system will be changed in the future.”
He continued: “Micali’s evaluation with the previous Olympic team was wonderful, and it was a successful experience by all standards, as he achieved fourth place in his current experience. He gathered the team only 12 days before the tournament.”
He concluded: “I hope that Ismailia fans will attend the Suez Canal Authority Stadium on the 26th, because their presence will greatly affect the players in this important match.”
