Just like the 2021 movie, the Motion Pictures Association has also granted Mortal Kombat 2 an R-rating for “strong bloody violence and gore, and language,” promising another gory and brutal adaptation of the hit video game series. The sequel is directed by Australian filmmaker Simon McQuoid from a screenplay written by Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater. Further details about the next installment’s plot and characters are still being kept under wraps. It is produced by James Wan, Michael Clear, Todd Garner, and E. Bennet Walsh.
