Audrey and Diane Pleynet, two gifted pianists

The destiny of the Vallois sisters is that of Diane and Audrey Pleynet, two twin keyboard prodigies. First trained by their father, the sisters studied at the conservatory before receiving several prizes, testifying to their excellence on the piano. They then joined the prestigious music school in Karlsruhe, Germany, where they would perfect their skills and continue to be noticed for their talent. But affected by an orphan disease which prevents the proper functioning of their hands, the Pleynet sisters must mourn the duettist career they had imagined, and adapt. They then imagine “ a personal pianistic technique and an adapted repertoire, allowing them to overcome their handicap », as detailed on their professional website.

The Pleynet sisters believe they managed to overcome their handicap thanks to being twins.

Determined and united, the twins succeeded in launching their professional careers: they performed several times for the Telethon, took part in festivals, on tours with an orchestra, played their own compositions… They even offered a recital in Tokyo, where they play in front of a packed house. “ Without this complicity that unites us, we would never have succeeded in finding the strength, in drawing within ourselves this energy to overcome difficulties. If we hadn't been twins, I think we would have given up at some point.”had analyzed Audrey Plenet in the documentary by Nils Tavernier The mystery of the twins in 2009.
