On Tuesday, Germany will be hit by strong squalls and possible hurricane-force winds, along with polar air and blowing snow. It can be dangerous locally.
Frankfurt – During the course of Tuesday afternoon the weather showed its stormy side. There may be storms and even severe storms from North Rhine-Westphalia to Berlin. At higher altitudes in the Harz, hurricane gusts of up to 120 km/h are possible. “Caution – there may be falling branches and falling trees. Rail and road traffic can be disrupted regionally,” warns qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung from wetter.net. Towards the evening the polar air hits relentlessly. The wind is turning to the north and icy air masses are flowing into the country.
Weather in Germany: Snowfall limit drops drastically
The snowfall line gradually drops to low altitudes. Especially at night, the flakes dance down to low altitudes and this can lead to slippery streets and sidewalks on Wednesday morning (November 20th). This can be problematic for many drivers.
It is windy and wet and cold. The cold air masses will remain until Saturday morning. Then the weather situation could change again.
