As the cold of late autumn sets in over part of the territory, Météo-France announces in its bulletin this Wednesday an orange “snow” vigilance for 28 departments, on an axis going from the north of Brittany and from Normandy to the Grand-Est.
In its bulletin published this Wednesday, November 20, Météo-France announces the placement on orange vigilance of 28 departments for a risk linked to snowfall and the formation of ice this Thursday. Vigilance concerns in particular all the departments of Ile-de-France as well as Aube, Yonne, Haute-Marne, Côte d'Or, Vosges, Haute-Saône, Doubs, Territoire de Belfort and the Haut-Rhin. The other departments concerned are Côtes-d'Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine, Calvados, Eure, Manche, Orne, Mayenne, Sarthe, Eure-et-Loir, Loir -et-Cher and the Loiret.
“On Thursday, the Caetano depression will cross France from west to east, and will cause snowfall to the north of its trajectory on an axis going from North Brittany – Normandy to the Grand-Est”, indicates Météo-France . “We expect 2 to 5 cm in the plains, locally up to 10 cm above 200 to 300m, and up to 15 to 20 cm in the east of Franche-Comté,” the bulletin also specifies. This is an early winter episode for the regions concerned and sufficiently notable to make traffic conditions difficult.
