The RMI expects strong gusts of wind and slippery roads on Wednesday evening, and therefore announces code yellow. Melting snow and snow, which could freeze, is expected, especially in the north and northeast of the country.
Code yellow for slippery conditions is in effect from 9 p.m. Wednesday evening until 8 a.m. Thursday morning. This has everything to do with the showers of melting snow and snow that are expected in the north, the northeast and the center of the country. “In some places they can create a thin carpet of snow,” the RMI said. “It clears out at the end of the night, allowing the temperature to quickly drop a few degrees. Local ice spots may then develop in the same provinces due to the freezing of wet road sections.”
In addition, from 7 p.m. Wednesday evening until midnight, a code yellow warning is issued for a strong west-northwest wind on the coast, with a force of 5 to 6 Beaufort. Thursday it will be dry with (medium) high clouds. The maximum temperatures are around -2 degrees in the High Fens, 2 degrees in the center and 5 degrees at the sea. Friday There is again a chance of winter showers in the north and the northeast, with maximum temperatures of 0 and 7 degrees.
Saturday there is increasing cloudiness with light rain at maximum temperatures between 2 and 7 degrees. Sunday it will be partly cloudy with a chance of some light precipitation. It will be a lot warmer with maximum temperatures between 13 and 17 degrees.
