Will it snow in Normandy this week? For several days, many weather specialists on social networks have been announcing that it could snow this Thursday, November 21.
“There is still total uncertainty about the possible snowy episode which could affect a northern part of France between Wednesday and Thursday. (…) He you will have to wait 48 hours or even 24 hours before this episode for good reliability”, indicated Sunday, November 17, the Météo Basse-Normandie Facebook page.
But according to a Météo France forecaster, although there is uncertainty in the forecast, there should be no snow this week in Normandy. “What is certain is that a depression will arrive and bring mild and humid air to the southern regions, facing cold air from the north. explains Thierry Loquet, Météo France forecaster in Seine-Maritime.
“It is on the border of the two that there is a risk of snow. The scenario would be rather likely south of the Loire”continues the forecaster.
A small part of the Perche could “possibly be affected”.
On the other hand, there could be “a few flakes in the form of showers” on the coasts in the north of the region on Wednesday. As the ground is not cold enough, there should be no problems with ice.
This week, winter is well and truly settling in in the region. A cold spell is expected for three days, from Wednesday to Friday. “It will not be an intense cold, but the first wave of winter,” continues the forecaster. The minimums expected Thursday and Friday will be around 0 degrees and the maximums will not exceed 5 degrees.
Mildness should return this weekend.
