On a poignant Tuesday, Ghana Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku met with players of the Black Stars at their hotel, reflecting on the team’s recent struggles following their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Taking to social media, Okraku expressed his dismay, contrasting the heights of Ghana’s football success with the current disappointing reality. “From the pinnacle of world football on March 29, 2022, to the depths of AFCON qualifying despair. My heart bleeds,” he lamented, referencing the pride of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup now overshadowed by this latest setback.

In his heartfelt message, Okraku acknowledged the shared disappointment felt among fans and stakeholders, emphasizing that the present situation falls short of expectations. “This is certainly not what we desired or anticipated,” he stated. “At this junction, only composed minds can navigate us forward. As leaders of this sport, we must unite, maintain honesty, and tackle this issue head-on.”

Despite the overwhelming disappointment, Okraku concluded his message on an encouraging note, reassuring supporters that the team is determined to rebound stronger than before. “We will emerge from this temporary hurdle. Better days are ahead,” he pledged.
