The police force, the IGPN, was notified of the case of a police director from Seine-Maritime, who allegedly had work done at her home by her agents, during their hours of duty. She allegedly paid them without declaring them and promised some of them promotions in exchange.
To arrange her new house, a director of the national police would have called on her agents during their working hours. According to revelations from France Bleu Normandie, three technical service agents accuse their superior of having made them work illegally on the construction site of her house for two years. In internal reports consulted by France Télévisions, they say they have carried out “several jobs“, going so far as to move forward”purchasing supplies“.
One of them claims that their superior promised quid pro quos, such as “reach category B grade. On the annual evaluation of the same agent, his department head recommends his promotion. According to Karim Bennacer, departmental delegate of the Alliance Police Nationale union, the young officers would not have been in a position to refuse his requests for two years. “There was a hierarchical and subordination link”, he argues.
The IGPN confirmed the opening of an administrative investigation. The head of department in question disputes all the facts.
