Natalia, a former prima ballerina, returns to her hometown of Richmond to work as a choreographer with a prestigious dance company, which is preparing the Christmas show: The Nutcracker. During an audition to recruit the performer of the Sugar Plum Fairy, she meets Vivi, a young dancer of Latin origin and salsa teacher at the dance studio run by her parents. The two young women become friends and decide to develop an original choreography. Natalia also meets Matteo, the company's lighting designer, who does not leave her indifferent and pushes her to highlight her skills to the director of the academy. Vivi meets Justin, a music producer, who participates in their project by offering an original soundtrack. The night of the performance, The Nutcracker is a success and against all expectations, Natalia is named principal choreographer of the company by her director, who surprises her by presenting Vivi's performance on stage, in front of an enthusiastic audience.
