The Devils experienced a new low point during the defeat against Israel on Sunday evening. After the match, the man of the match, Koen Casteels, was very unhappy with a question from Gilles de Bilde.

Red Devil on 25 occasions between 1994 and 2000, Gilles de Bilde is today a reporter for VTM. It is he who, after the matches, comes to interview the Red Devils for the television channel in the north of the country. And the former striker is not known for having easy questions.

This was already the case with Kevin De Bruyne after the match against the French team. In response to a question from De Bilde, the captain of the Devils really castigated his teammates. Domenico Tedesco had also contacted the ex of Anderlecht and Lierse, telling him “that he should not interview De Bruyne when he is so angry” (read here).

Sunday evening, it was Koen Casteels, voted best Belgian player by the public of The Latest Newswho appeared at Gilles de Bilde’s microphone. And again, one question didn’t sit well.

“Can the Devils still continue with Tedesco as coach? Gilles, you know very well that this is not a question for me. I know you want to ask it, but I am not going to answer it. It’s a question for others.”

Casteels still underlined what, according to him, constitutes the Devils’ major problem. “Before, we got into the habit of changing these kinds of matches with one or another individual action. This is no longer the case and we must work on it,” he soberly concluded.
