At 80 years old, Dave aspires to a peaceful and quiet life. To do this, the singer regularly leaves his very chic Parisian residence of Villa Montmorency, located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, to take refuge in Provence with his husband Patrick Loiseau. Fallen under the spell of this French region, the artist from the Netherlands has, for more than 25 years, been the happy owner of a house in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, located a few kilometers from Cavaillon where, far from the hustle and bustle of Paris and the spotlight, he enjoys the tranquility and serenity with his husband and their dog Clara. However, after purchasing it, the singer embarked on major renovation work since at the time of his acquisition, the property was in poor condition and did not have all the amenities. In the columns of Our Time in 2017, the interpreter of Vanina had also described his property as being a “ruin without water or electricity located on the Monts du Vaucluse”. But what he appreciates above all is the tranquility of the place.
“I love this house, it's in the middle of nowhere in an area where you can't build. The only disadvantage is that we don't have access to city water. We must therefore go through a drilling“, confided the star to Evening Mag in 2022. After several years of work, Dave can now fully enjoy his haven of peace. “It's so nice to be here. Lost in moments of happiness”, he declared in front of the TF1 cameras in July 2023, measuring how lucky he was to live in this house. “I love coming home. The village is to die for”, he continued. In his region of heart, the singer particularly enjoys walking along the Sorgue which crosses the small town nicknamed the Venice of Provence. At home, he also makes his “own rosemary bread”, as he explained to Provenceas reported The women's newspaper. “I love going to the Isle-sur-la-Sorgue market to buy my tapenade, he added. And once home, I cook tians of vegetables“. In his home, he also takes pleasure in receiving his friends and relatives, or neighbors.

Dave: why does he flee his Montmorency villa during the end of year celebrations
On January 25, 2022, Dave suffered a heavy fall in his Parisian home located in Villa Montmorency. A fall which took the singer to the hospital. He was operated on for a brain hemorrhage and then put in a coma for several days. Since then, according to information from France Dimanche, the artist is still “traumatized”. And according to the media, “he could not help but think that a terrible curse hovers over him during this cursed month, when he is in Paris”. So, the singer decided to leave his Parisian apartment and not return until after the end-of-year holidays. Because, every year, David and his husband Patrick Loiseau celebrate New Year's Eve in their haven of peace in Provence where they enjoy the calm of this picturesque little town. A magnificent cocoon of tranquility.
