González hits a big blow

Moto2™ riders were the last to fight for pole position today in Catalonia during qualifying for the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona. Already imperial yesterday, Arfrom canet (Fantic Racing) dominated this second day of driving and therefore Q2 with a time in 1’42.003 despite a fall this morning. The runner-up in the World Championship will share the front row with Manuel Gonzalez (Gresini Moto2™), which is ideally placed to dispossess Sergio Garcwas going (MT Helmets MSI) from the podium overall. Zonta Van den Goorbergh (RW Racing GP) achieved an excellent third place.

Ogura fifth

Behind, Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Aspar Team) will try tomorrow to get back on the podium after its big mistake at the start of the last lap in Malaysia. The British driver will be closely marked by the World Champion, Ai Ogura (MT Helmets MSI), who climbs to fifth place in this Q2. The rookie, Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team), will start from sixth position in front Filip Salac (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team).

García and Aldeguer far from the mark

Winner two weeks ago at Sepang, Celestino Vietti (Red Bull KTM Ajo) is eighth on this last grid of the season ahead of Jorge Navarro (OnlyFans American Racing Team), victim of a fall in this session. Passed through Q1, Senna Agius (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) comes away with 10th place. It will also be noted that Fermin Aldeguer (Sync Speed Up) et Albert Arenas (Gresini Moto2™) also made mistakes. Sergío García is 14th while Fermín Aldeguer is 18th.

The last Moto2™ race of the season will take place at 12:15 p.m. this Sunday.
