The satisfaction of the French is increasing regarding the policy implemented in France for professional sport (60%, +4 points compared to 2018) and amateur sport (53%, +7 pts). And the French designate two major priorities for national sports policy: continue to encourage sport among young people and at school (59%) and develop health sport to improve physical, psychological and social well-being (52%).
Largely satisfied with the sports associations and clubs available near them (81%) as well as the equipment at their disposal (77%), they consider it less of a priority to provide more sports equipment (36%) and to strengthen support for clubs and associations (36%). In a context of public finances slipping, 73% of French people and 69% of sports fans believe that the reduction in the budget of the Ministry of Sports is acceptable because reducing state debt implies reducing public spending.
Finally, the French are rather in favor of a status quo with regard to the Sports budget: 46% want it to remain the same, 26% that it increase, 28% that it decrease. Here are the main lessons from the latest survey carried out by Odoxa for Winamax and RTL on Wednesday 13 Thursday 14 November 2024.
