In partnership with the association Nangis Boxingthe multisport service of Nangissian Brie (Seine-et-Marne) proposed to adolescents aged 11 to 17to discover mixed martial artsbetter known as MMA.
The objective of this sporting and educational project is to use combat sports as learning vector of values such as the respectthe disciplinel’team spirit and the perseverance. It also aims to “redevelop living together, to encourage letting go to help young people better manage their emotions.
The project contributes to promoting social cohesion and aims to promote gender diversity “allowing everyone to flourish in an inclusive and respectful environment”.
Introduction and visit to a mythical place
At the end of October 2024, two initiation afternoons were therefore organized at Nangis gymnasiumin the presence of sports educators from the Brie Nangissienne multi-sports service and Nangis Boxing, a very active club with more than 80 members, including 30 young people aged 14 to 16, and a significant proportion of girls.
Monday was dedicated to the discovery of MMA, Q1 and of boxing with Odjé Mandafour times world champion and two times European champion, while Tuesday consisted of a introduction to Brazilian jiu-jitsu alongside Moussteacher of the discipline with more than 20 years of practice.
On Monday October 28, a small group of seven selected young people even had the chance to visit the MMA Factory in Paris, temple of the discipline in France, which has seen the biggest names in the discipline such as Francis Ngannou or Jérôme Le Banner.
The young people were surprised to meet and have a session with Ciryl Gane (UFC interim championfirst Frenchman to win a belt from this famous organization), Jordan Zebo (pro fighter with six victories for only one defeat) and Pauline Begai (pro fighter and training partner of Ciryl Gane)!
