On the night of Friday November 15 to Saturday November 16, Jake Paul topped the bill while beating the legendary Mike Tyson in an exhibition-style boxing match. Little known in France, this 27-year-old influencer is a controversial celebrity in the United States.
Known in the early 2010s for his videos on Vine and YouTube networks with his brother Logan, he then moved to Los Angeles, continuing to broadcast the stunts he made with his friends (lots of burning objects, jumping into a swimming pool, two-wheeled feats). Enough to maintain an almost permanent party that drives the residents of his neighborhood crazy. A period during which he explains having widely abused illicit substances.
The tall blonde with multiple tattoos started boxing in 2018setting up two fights for him and his brother against two rival British YouTubers. He then faces a former basketball player, MMA specialists, reality TV star Tommy Fury before organizing the fight against Tyson.
Businessman and target of several controversies
As a good businessman, he created a fight promotion company (“MVP”)which notably counts in its ranks the Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano, one of the best boxers in the world. Jake Paul has also launched into venture capital (investment and stakes in young companies), created a sports betting site, and has just launched a brand of body care products, all while surfing on his more than 20 million YouTube subscribers and 27 million followers on Instagram.

America is saved.”
The young man has also sparked controversy on several occasions. In 2020, he threw a huge party at his Calabasas villa in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. This same villa was searched a few months later by the FBI, who then seized firearms, after the YouTuber appeared in a video in a vandalized shopping center in Arizona during anti-racist demonstrations.
In 2023, he and other influencers were prosecuted by the American market watchdog for advertising cryptocurrencies without revealing that they were paid to do so. Jake Paul agrees to pay $101,887 in reimbursement and finewithout admitting or denying his guilt.
